Subject: Procedures For Filling Positions Under Rule 8.2.1

Issue Date: September 7, 1999

According to the provisions of Civil Service Rule 8.2.1, no position above the GS-20 pay range, except medical and shortage positions, may be filled on a permanent basis, from the date of the Gubernatorial First Primary Election (October 23, 1999) through Inauguration Day (January 10, 2000), without obtaining prior approval of the Director.

Jobs above GS-20 will not be announced; nor will appointments be approved with an effective date after October 22, 1999. This will continue through Inauguration Day.

If there are any changes in this policy, you will be notified through General Circular.
