Subject: Notice To Check The Department And Open Preferred

Issue Date: May 18, 1999

Due to the posting of a large layoff in New Orleans, there is an extensive Open Preferred List for Orleans and some surrounding parishes. In addition to checking your Department Preferred List, check the Open Preferred List for probational vacancies in all jobs in Orleans and surrounding parishes.

If you have access to the Online Personnel Information (OPEN) system, check the inquiry list. If you do not have access to OPEN, call the Certification Unit at (225) 342-8557 to request that we check the Open Preferred List for you. Upon your request, we will fax a copy of the inquiry to you.
