Subject: Update Of Jobs Open For Competitive Promotion

Issue Date: August 7, 1998

The Examining Division has made numerous changes in recent weeks to the list of exams. This includes changes in selection procedures from experience and training ratings to Eligible ratings, as well as changes in the announcement status from ANN to STE or CTS. Many of these changes impact the list of those jobs open continuously for promotion to state employees. An updated list of jobs open for competitive promotion above G.S. 14 is listed below. Employees should be encouraged to review this revised list in order to establish eligibility for promotional opportunities. Employees of agencies which have signed internal promotional agreements with the Department of Civil Service should be aware of the requirements of those agreements, and must satisfy them as well.

The enclosed Permanent State Employee Promotion List includes the most recent changes in boldface print. PLEASE POST THIS REVISED LIST in the area where Special and Promotional announcements are posted.

This information is also available at our Website (www.dscs.state.la.us) in both viewable and downloadable forms. Please be aware that this listing is updated periodically. Since general circulars are not issued each time a change is made, agency personnel should check with Examining Division personnel or our Website for the most current listing.

NOTE: The list of jobs open continuously for promotion above G.S. 14 does not appear in the OPEN version of this General Circular. The announcement schedule of any job may be seen in the OPEN system by consulting the List of Exams.
