General
Circular No. 001267
To: Heads of State Agencies and Human
Resource
Directors
Subject: Expansion Of Walk-in Testing Pilot Study
Issue
Date: December 13, 1996
In
General Circular 1249, the Examining Division announced that
it was
conducting a pilot study of walk-in testing of typing
careers
test (series 4002) applicants at our Baton Rouge
Information
and Test Center at 5825 Florida Boulevard in Baton
Rouge. The purpose of the study was to see if we
could improve
the
quality of the applicant pool and reduce our processing
effort. We also hoped both agencies and applicants
would like
the
flexibility of walk-in testing. We are
surveying
applicants
to help us evaluate the application and testing
process
in general, and the walk-in process in particular. We
are
also tracking test performance. We will
report the results
of
these studies in more detail later.
