Subject:     Change In Clerical Supervisor Testing

 

Issue Date:  May 30, 1996

 

 

Effective June 10, 1996, the Department of Civil Service is

abolishing the Clerical Supervisor Exam, series 4500.

Selection for jobs which have been using this exam will now be

handled as described below.  All candidates on existing 4500

lists will be notified of these changes.

GROUP ONE

 

The four jobs in this group, Clerk Chief 2, Office Supervisor

and Office Manager 1 & 2, will now use the General Clerical

Exam, series 4000, as their selection procedure. The new

registers for these jobs are shown below. Candidates on

existing 4500 registers for these jobs (Register titles

"Clerical Supervisor Exam A" and "Clerical Supervisor Exam B")

who also have existing 4000 grade records are being regraded to

these new registers and will receive new grade notices.

Probational certificates will be issued from these new lists

beginning June 10, 1996 or later.

GROUP TWO

 

The following jobs will not have selection procedures

established at this time.  Qualified permanent employees can be

promoted to these jobs.  We will begin approving promotions to

these jobs without a 4500 test score for promotions effective

June 1, 1996 or later.  Selection procedures for probational

vacancies in these jobs will be established as needed.

have a GS 15 or above pay level.  Selection procedures for

these jobs will be determined at the time of the announcement.

                  REVENUE ANALYST SUPERVISOR 3

                  MOTOR VEHICLE OFFICER SUPERVISOR 4/FIELD
