Subject: Requesting Accountant 1 And 2 Certificates

As part of the revision of the entire Accountant series, Accountants 1 and 2 were recently established as a training series. This means that although positions are allocated at the Accountant 2 level, vacancies can be filled at either level. If you fill at the Accountant 1 level; the position can be automatically reallocated to the 2 level when the incumbent qualifies.

In a training series, normally most positions are filled at the entry level, which in this case, is Accountant 1. This has not been happening for this series. We have issued four certificates for Accountant 1 and forty-six certificates for Accountant 2. This is not how a training series should work.

In order to facilitate the proper use of this training series, we are asking you to submit two SF-2's if you want to consider both entry and journeyman candidates. If you submit only one SF-2, we will issue the entry level Accountant 1 certificate.
