The State Civil Service Commission will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, March 6, 1996 to consider the proposed adoption of Rule 14.1(p). The public hearing will begin at 9:00 a.m. in the Commission Hearing Room at the Department of State Civil Service, Second Floor, DOTD Annex Building, 1201 Capitol Access Road, Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

Consideration will be given to the following:

(p) Except with the prior approval of the Commission, no person shall be placed in any position over which he/she is, or was within the past two years, the statutory appointing authority.

EXPLANATION

This rule would prevent unclassified employees with appointing authority from either appointing themselves or from being appointed to a classified position in the agency in which he or she serves.
