is quoted below for your information and guidance a
proclamation
issued on August 30, 1995 by the Honorable Edwin
W.
Edwards, Governor of Louisiana.

P R O C L A M A T I O N
WHEREAS, Saturday, November 11, 1995 has been
designated as
Veterans Day to honor all American
Servicemen and
Servicewomen and that under the
provisions of R.S.
1:55 of Louisiana said occasion has
been designated
as a legal holiday to be observed
by all
departments of state; and
WHEREAS, that in accord with R.S. 1:55(B)(4) said
holiday
shall be celebrated and enjoyed by
state employees
on the closest regularly scheduled
work day
preceding this legal holiday, i.e.
on Friday,
November 10, 1995;
NOW
THEREFORE I, EDWIN W. EDWARDS, Governor of
the State of
Louisiana,
do
hereby proclaim that in accord with
and subject to
the provisions of R.S. 1:55(B)(4)
of Louisiana all
state employees shall have a
holiday on Friday,
November 10, 1995. Further, I do hereby direct
that the heads of all institutions,
offices and
departments of the State shall
permit employees to
observe this holiday, except that
provisions shall
be made for the efficient
administration of all
facilities, the operation of which
cannot be
dispensed with, in the discretion
of the head of
the institution, office or
department where such
conditions prevail.
