Subject: Appointments And Promotions To Accounting Jobs

There will be several changes to test series 1000 - the professional accounting exam. The reason for these changes is the establishment of several new accounting jobs and the abolishment of several existing jobs. Several existing registers will be abolished as a result of these changes. Candidates are being notified concerning how to establish eligibility on new registers. New registers are now being established.
We are no longer issuing certificates from the old lists of eligibles for the following job titles.
Accountant 1
Accountant 2
Fiscal Manager 1
Accountant 3
Accountant 4
Proprietary Accountant 1
Accounting Supervisor 1
Accounting Supervisor 2
Accounting Supervisor 3
Accounting Supervisor 4
Accounting Supervisor 5
Reimbursements Accountant 3
Proprietary Accountant 2
New registers are being established reflecting changes made to the pay plan, and certificates will be issued ASAP.
Appointments from certificates of eligibles for these jobs must have an effective date prior to July 1, 1995.
Certifiable scores for test series 1000 are abolished effective July 1, 1995. Appointments based on certifiable score must have an effective date before July 1, 1995.
You should get positions allocated to the new titles before filling them. Once the position is allocated, requirements for the new job will be used in determining whether a candidate is eligible for appointment or promotion.
Noncompetitive promotions, demotions, noncompetitive reemployments and other position changes must have effective dates prior to July 1, 1995.
