STATE OF LOUISIANA
DEPARTMENT OF STATE CIVIL SERVICE
BATON ROUGE, LOUISIANA
February 21, 2006
General Circular
No. 001648
To: Heads of State Agencies and
Human Resource Directors
Subject: PPR
Deadline Dates
Issue Date: February 21,
2006
Immediately
following Hurricane Katrina we issued General Circular Number 1618, which
stated in part
Civil Service rule 10.17 of the chapter
governing PPR states, “For compelling reasons, the Director may approve
exceptions to these Rules.” We can
think of no more compelling reason than the current circumstances and are
authorizing the Appointing Authority of any state agency to defer PPR matters
to one common and prospective date as he / she deems appropriate. Specifically, all PPR planning and rating
documents that were due from August 27, 2005 through February 28, 2006 will be
considered timely if they are completed by close of business on February 28,
2006. …Unless you are otherwise
notified, the normal rules and procedures for Performance Planning and Review
will resume March 1, 2006.
Civil Service
Rule 2.16 (c) extends the March 1, 2006 deadline for performance planning and
review sessions to June 1, 2006 for employees whose work or home domicile on August
29, 2005 was in Cameron, Jefferson, Orleans, Plaquemines, St. Bernard, or
Vermilion Parishes. The normal
rules and procedures for Performance Planning and Review resume March 1, 2006
for all other employees.
