General Circular No. 001641

To:                   Heads of State Agencies and Human Resource Directors

Subject:            Revised PPR Test and General Information

Issue Date:       December 15, 2005

PLEASE ENSURE THAT THIS INFORMATION IS MADE AVAILABLE TO ANY EMPLOYEE AUTHORIZED TO TEACH PPR IN YOUR AGENCY.

REVISION TO TEST FOR “PPR for SUPERVISORS” CLASS:

Please be advised the PPR for Supervisors test has been revised.  All delegated PPR trainers must begin using the newly revised test effective January 1, 2006.  You should continue to use the existing test for all classes scheduled until December 31, 2005.  The newly revised test and answer key will be mailed to all delegated trainers.  If you have not received the testing packet by January 4, 2006, please contact Dwuena Wyre at 225-342-8084.

The testing packet will include the test, answer key and a memo.  The memo will outline specific responsibilities of the delegated PPR trainer regarding testing and test security.  You are required to destroy all unused tests that will no longer be used.  The tests to be destroyed have a label of “Dev 12/03” in the top left hand corner.

TRAIN-THE-TRAINER TO BE OFFERED:

In the spring of 2006, we plan to offer the PPR Train-the-Trainer course.  If your agency has had staffing changes, you may need to certify a new PPR trainer.  Please remember the PPR delegated trainer signs the contract along with the agency appointing authority.  If that employee is no longer employed by your agency, you will need to certify another delegated trainer.  In order to become a delegated PPR trainer one must take and pass the test for the Documenting for Performance and Discipline and PPR for Supervisors classes prior to taking the PPR Train-the-Trainer class.  Upon successful completion of all 3 classes, a contract is signed at which point the agency delegated PPR trainer may schedule and conduct classes.

If you have any questions and/or require additional information, please contact Dwuena Wyre at 225-342-8084 or at dwuena.wyre@la.gov. Further, contact Dwuena Wyre if a delegated PPR trainer is no longer employed by your agency and/or staffing changes require that our PPR delegated trainer files be updated for your agency.

Sincerely,

s/Anne S. Soileau

Acting Director
