General Circular No. 001451

To: Heads of State Agencies and Human Resource Directors

Subject: Affirmative Action Plan Data on the Internet

Issue Date: September 26, 2001

The Louisiana Department of Labor has now made the Louisiana Affirmative Action Data Book available through its website at www.ldol.state.la.us/LMI.asp. The Affirmative Action Data Book includes the Occupational Breakout of the Labor Force by Sex and Ethnic Group (p.34 et seq) for the state as a whole, for the major Metropolitan Statistical Areas as well as for the individual parishes. This data is used by most state agencies to determine their available skilled labor pool when preparing Affirmative Action Plans. It is issued annually by the Department of Labor and is usually available in August.

In past years, the Department of Civil Service has disseminated this information from the Louisiana Affirmative Action Data Book via General Circular. Since this information is now available directly from the Department of Labor website, the Department of Civil Service will no longer distribute this information.

To obtain hard copies of the Louisiana Affirmative Action Data Book, please contact the Department of Labor, Research and Statistics Division at the address below.
