Subject:            New Class Available for Supervisors & Developing a Motivated Workgroup

PLEASE MAKE THIS GENERAL CIRCULAR AVAILABLE TO ALL CPTP AND MANDATORY TRAINING COORDINATORS.

Civil Service, along with the CPTP Program, would like to announce a new class available to supervisors titled “Strategies for Supervisory Success.”  This 1-day class is designed to help participants develop strategies to effectively assume their supervisory roles within their agencies.  Learning objectives include managing your transition to a supervisory role, building personal credibility, developing work group commitment, and implementing action planning within the agency.

Strategies for Supervisory Success is on the current course schedule.  Please check the CPTP website (http://www.doa.louisiana.gov/cptp/by_city.htm) for classes in your area.  We are excited about this new course to aid supervisors in their roles.  If you have any questions, please contact Sam Breen, CPTP Administrator, at 225-342-3620 or Karen Puckett, CPTP Operations Manager, at 225-342-7002.

We would also like to inform you that the class Developing a Motivated Workgroup, a class mandatory for supervisors in Supervisory Group 1, is now a 1-day course.  Previously, the class was a day and a half.
