GUIDELINES FOR PREPARING AFFIRMATIVE ACTION PLANS

Effective January 1, 2002, all state agencies are required to follow these Guidelines for Preparing Affirmative Action Plans.  Summarized below are the major changes these Guidelines reflect, as compared to the previous AAP requirements.

MAJOR CHANGES EFFECTIVE JANUARY 1, 2002

CHANGES:
You are now required to count and report unclassified employees.
Determining availability now requires only two factors, rather than eight.
You must send the entire Plan every year.
Agencies that need only EEO Policies must send them in by January 1 each year.
You must list the Personnel Areas that are included in the AAP.
Each Department’s Primary AAP must tell where all Personnel Areas in the Department are reported.
You may choose to do an Organizational Display instead of a Workforce Analysis.

Sexual Harassment Policy
Internal and External Dissemination
Table of Job Classifications
Vacancies
Goals and Timetables
Compliance with Sex Discrimination Guidelines
Religious and National Origin Guidelines
Handicapped and Disabled Veterans and Veterans of the Vietnam Era
