Work Schedules and Leave

 

Chapter 11 of the Civil Service rules addresses work schedules, earning leave, use of leave, and many of the duties of the appointing authority and employees in processes related to these matters.  Agencies are also required to maintain certain documentation of attendance and leave as required in Chapter 15 of the Rules.  Chapter 12 provides information on addressing unscheduled absences.  These are the primary sources of information for regular attendance and leave issues. This section of the HR Handbook contains explanations, interpretations, and procedures for implementing the rules outlined in these Chapters.  Agencies may also need to review the HR Handbook section on “Overtime” for additional information related to earning straight and time-and-a-half compensatory time.
