Sample Civil Service Test Questions

These sample questions give you an idea of what Louisiana Civil Service tests are like.  There are also commercially published study guides and practice tests for employment tests.  Most public libraries and bookstores carry such study books.  Published by companies like ARCO and Barron's, these books contain sample questions from employers across the country; they are not specific to Louisiana state tests.  So if you plan to use some of the commercially published books, you may want to use the sample questions we've presented here as a guide to the type of questions you want to look for when selecting a study book.

• Professional Supervisor Test: Test Series 3700 -- promotional exam for State employees; some jobs are open to the public.
• Accounting Paraprofessional Test: Test Series 4242 -- paraprofessional accounting/bookkeeping jobs.
• Highway Foreman Test: Test Series 4300 -- promotional exam for State employees.
• Manager/Administrator Test: Test Series 4900 -- promotional exam for State employees; some jobs are open to the public.
• Clerical/Office/Administrative Support Test: Test Series 7000/7001 -- office support jobs, with an optional typing skills test.
