ADDED TO THE AGENDA:

1)         Request of the Department of State Civil Service to add to the agenda the original request of the Division of Administration for a 10% Optional Pay Adjustment for additional duties for Ms. Pam Perkins in accordance with Civil Service Rule 6.16.2, which the Commission granted a 7% adjustment at the February 20, 2008 meeting. THE COMMISSION GRANTED THE REQUEST TO ADD REQUEST TO THE AGENDA.

2)         Request of the Division of Administration for a permanent Optional Pay Adjustment of 10% for additional duties for Ms. Pamela Perkins, Attorney General Counsel 2, in accordance with Civil Service Rule 6.16.2, effective July 1, 2007.  When the Commission granted 7% in February, it believed it would be setting a precedent if approval of more than 7% for an administrative job at the peak of its profession were granted.  The Commission asked the Department to review and upon this review found that 10% adjustments have been granted in similar situations; therefore recommending 10% is not a violation of precedent.  Department recommends amending the action of February to be 10% rather than 7%.  COMMISSION AMENDED THE FEBRUARY ACTION OF A 7% ADJUSTMENT TO A 10% ADJUSTMENT, EFFECTIVE JULY 1, 2007.
