1) Request of the Department of State Civil Service to add a
request from the Department of Economic Development, for unclassified authority
under the provisions of Civil Service Rule 4.1(d)2, to the agenda. THE COMMISSION
GRANTED THE REQUEST TO ADD REQUEST TO THE AGENDA.
2) Request of the Department of Economic Development for
unclassified authority under the provisions of Civil Service Rule 4.1(d)2, for
one (1) unclassified Special Projects Officer position, effective June 6, 2007
through June 5, 2012. Department recommends approval as
requested. THE COMMISSION GRANTED THE REQUEST.
GENERAL BUSINESS SESSION
1) Public hearing to consider
proposed changes to the Pay Plan. THE COMMISSION CONDUCTED A PUBLIC HEARING TO
CONSIDER PROPOSED CHANGES TO THE PAY PLAN.
ON MOTION DULY MADE, SECONDED AND PASSED; THE COMMISSION APPROVED THE
PAY PLAN PROPOSAL TO INCREASE THE MINIMUM RATES OF ALL PAY GRIDS IN ALL SIX
SCHEDULES BY AT LEAST 7%. THIS IS CONTINGENT UPON IMPLEMENTATION OF AN ACROSS
THE BOARD INCREASE OF APPROXIMATELY $1500 ANNUALLY. AN EFFECTIVE DATE THE DAY
IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING SAID INCREASE IS REQUESTED.

Education for extension of unclassified authority for (38) Distinguished
Educator positions, in accordance with Civil Service Rule 4.1(d)2, effective
