8)        Request of the Department of Natural Resources for an exception to Civil Service Rule 21.9 to pay exempt personnel assigned to work during a declared emergency at the time and one-half rate, effective July 19, 2006. 9)        Request of the LSU Health Sciences Center—New Orleans for extension of furlough through September 15, 2006. (Appearance by a representative of the LSU Health Sciences Center – New Orleans.)  NO ACTION WAS REQUIRED BY THE COMMISSION.

 

10)       Request of the LSU Health Sciences Center—New Orleans to ratify the interim approval given by the Director of Civil Service for exceptions to the regular layoff rules for the layoff effective September 15, 2006. (Appearance by a representative of the LSU Health Sciences Center – New Orleans.)  AFTER A REPORT FROM JUDY MCGIMSEY, THE COMMISSION GRANTED THE REQUEST.

 

11)      Request of the Louisiana State Employees’ Retirement System to extend unclassified authority for fifteen (15) positions in accordance with Civil Service Rule 4.1(d)2, beginning February 5, 2007 through June 30, 2008. 12)       Request of the Department of Education for two unclassified positions of Executive Master Teachers and one unclassified position of Teacher Advancement Program Director in accordance with Civil Service Rule 4.1(d)2, effective September 13, 2006 to September 12, 2011. 13)       Request of the Louisiana School for the Visually Impaired to establish a Non-Disciplinary Removal for Unscheduled Absences Policy in accordance with Civil Service Rule 12.6(a)2, effective September 16, 2006. Appearance by a representative of the Louisiana School for the Visually Impaired.)  THE COMMISSION GRANTED THE REQUEST, EFFECTIVE SEPTEMBER 16, 2006.

 

14)       Request of the Office of Financial Institutions to award Ms. DeRee Allen and Ms. Didrea Moore $250.00 each for completion of the Southern Trust School curriculum in accordance with Civil Service Rule 6.16(a), effective September 13, 2006. (Appearance by a representative of the Office of Financial Institutions.)  THE COMMISSION GRANTED THE REQUEST.

 

15)       Request of the Department of Natural Resources to revise its Rewards and Recognition Policy in accordance with Civil Service Rule 6.16.1, effective July 19, 2006. (Appearance by a representative of the Department of Natural Resources.)  THE COMMISSION GRANTED THE REQUEST.

 

16)       Consideration of the following requests for optional pay adjustments for additional duties in accordance with Civil Service Rule 6.16.2, as follows:

 

a.         Department of Social Services for a temporary optional pay adjustment in the amount of 5% for employees serving as Emergency Preparedness Lead Area Managers, effective July 1, 2006 through October 31, 2006.   THE COMMISSION GRANTED THE REQUEST.

 

b.         Department of Social Services for a permanent Optional Pay Adjustment of 5% for Veda Emerson, Deputy Assistant Secretary 3, effective June 29, 2006.  THE COMMISSION GRANTED THE REQUEST.

 

c.         Teachers’ Retirement System of Louisiana to extend a temporary optional pay adjustment of 5% for A. Stuart Cagle, Audit Director 2, for duties performed July 8, 2006 through July 23, 2006.  THE COMMISSION GRANTED THE REQUEST.

 

d.         Board of Commissioners of the Port of New Orleans for an additional temporary optional pay adjustment of 5% (with 5% having already been awarded by the agency) for Christopher Richard, Auditor Supervisor, effective May 15, 2006 through December 31, 2007.  THE COMMISSION GRANTED THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE PORT OF NEW ORLEANS AUTHORITY FOR  AN ADDITIONAL TEMPORARY OPTIONAL PAY ADJUSTMENT OF 2% FOR CHRISTOPHER RICHARD, EFFECTIVE MAY 15, 2006 THROUGH DECEMBER 31, 2007.

 

e.         Department of Public Safety and Corrections for a one time lump sum optional pay adjustment of 5% for Rexford McDonald, IT Communications Director, effective September 13, 2006.  THE COMMISSION GRANTED THE REQUEST.

 

f.          Department of Culture, Recreation & Tourism for a 5% permanent optional pay adjustment for Phillip Boggan, Architectural Historian Manager, effective August 9, 2006.   THE COMMISSION GRANTED THE REQUEST.

 

g.         Office of Youth Development for a permanent optional pay adjustment of 10% for John Anderson, Youth Facility Director, Jetson Correctional Center for Youth, effective July 3, 2006.  THE COMMISSION GRANTED THE OFFICE OF YOUTH DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY FOR A PERMANENT OPTIONAL PAY ADJUSTMENT OF 7% FOR JOHN ANDERSON, EFFECTIVE JULY 3, 2006.

 

h.         Department of Natural Resources for a permanent optional pay adjustment of 5% for Brent Campbell, Engineer 8, effective September 13, 2006.   THE COMMISSION GRANTED THE REQUEST.

 

i.          Department of Health and Hospitals for a 9.924% lump sum optional pay adjustment for Jennifer Smith, Medicaid Program Manager 4, effective August 30, 2006. THE COMMISSION GRANTED THE REQUEST.

 

j.          Division of Administration for a permanent optional pay adjustment of 5% (with 5% having already been awarded by the agency) for a total of 10% for Cynthia Summers, State Auditor 3, effective September 13, 2006.  THE COMMISSION GRANTED THE REQUEST, EFFECTIVE JULY 3, 2006.

 

k.         Division of Administration for a permanent optional pay adjustment of 5% (with 5% having already been awarded by the agency) for a total of 10% for Lisa Jackson-Joseph, Administrative Coordinator 3, effective September 13, 2006.  THE COMMISSION GRANTED THE DIVISION OF ADMINISTRATION AUTHORITY FOR A PERMANENT OPTIONAL PAY ADJUSTMENT OF 2% FOR LISA JACKSON-JOSEPH, EFFECTIVE JUNE 12, 2006.

 

l.          Division of Administration for a permanent optional pay adjustment of 5% (with 5% having already been awarded by the agency) for a total of 10% for  Rosemary Jackson, State Purchasing Manager, effective September 13, 2006.  THE COMMISSION GRANTED THE DIVISION OF ADMINISTRATION AUTHORITY FOR A PERMANENT OPTIONAL PAY ADJUSTMENT OF 2% FOR ROSEMARY JACKSON, EFFECTIVE JUNE 19, 2006.

21)       Consideration of Requests for Special Pay Rates. THE REQUEST OF THE TEACHERS RETIREMENT SYSTEM OF LOUISIANA IS FOR AUDITOR SUPERVISOR INSTEAD OF AUDITOR 3.  THE REQUESTS WERE GRANTED BY THE COMMISSION AS RECOMMENDED BY THE DIRECTOR.

 

22)       Consideration of Requests for Special Entrance Rates.  THE DIVISION OF ADMINISTRATION WITHDREW THEIR REQUEST FOR SPECIAL ENTRANCE RATES FOR THE IT TECH SUPPORT SPECIALIST 2 AND IT TECH SUPPORT SUPERVISOR.  ALL OTHER REQUESTS WERE GRANTED BY THE COMMISSION AS RECOMMENDED BY THE DIRECTOR.
