1)         Request of the Delgado Community College to ratify exceptions to the February 10, 2006 furlough of 3 employees in accordance with Civil Service Rule 17.2(b) and approval to extend that furlough in accordance with Civil Service Rule 17.8(c) to close of business on April 27, 2006.  (Appearance by a representative of the Delgado Community College.)  THE REQUEST WAS GRANTED BY THE COMMISSION.

 

2)         Request of the Nunez Community College to extend two furloughs of a total of 12 employees in accordance with Civil Service Rule 17.8(d) effective March 8, 2006 to close of business on June 30, 2006.  (Appearance by a representative of the Nunez Community College.)  THE REQUEST WAS GRANTED BY THE COMMISSION.

 

3)         Request of the Department of Social Services under the provisions of Civil Service Rule 17.8(d) to extend the furlough of one additional Office of Community Services employee, effective February 27, 2006 through June 30, 2006.  (Appearance by a representative of the Office of Community Services.)  THE REQUEST WAS GRANTED BY THE COMMISSION.

 

4)         Consideration of the following requests for an individual pay adjustment in accordance with Rule 6.16(c):

 

a.         Department of Health and Hospitals – in the amount of $98.40 biweekly for Ms. Kirsten Clebert, Medicaid Program Monitor, effective August 29, 2005.  THE REQUEST WAS GRANTED BY THE COMMISSION.

 

b.         Department of Health and Hospitals – in the amount of $97.60 biweekly for Ms. Maria Diaz, Medicaid Program Specialist 2, effective August 29, 2005.  THE REQUEST WAS GRANTED BY THE COMMISSION.

 

c.         Department of Health and Hospitals – in the amount of $81.60 biweekly for Ms. Mary Norris, Medicaid Program Manager 1-B, effective October 1, 2005.  THE REQUEST WAS WITHDRAWN.

 

d.         Department of Health and Hospitals – in the amount of $269.59 biweekly for Dr. Kang-Sun Lee, Economist 3, effective March 8, 2006.  THE REQUEST WAS GRANTED BY THE COMMISSION.

7)         Consideration of the following requests to for Optional Pay Adjustments for additional duties in accordance with Rule 6.16.2, as follows:

 

a.         Division of Administration – for a permanent 10% optional pay adjustment for Mr. Jerry Jones, Facility Planning and Control Director – Assistant Commissioner, effective August 29, 2005. THE REQUEST WAS GRANTED BY THE COMMISSION.

 

b.         Department of Health and Hospitals, Hammond Developmental Center – for a permanent base pay adjustment in the amount of 5% for Mr. Gerard Hart, Facility Maintenance Manager 3, effective October 11, 2005. THE REQUEST WAS GRANTED BY THE COMMISSION.

 

c.         Department of Economic Development – for a permanent optional pay adjustment in the amount of 10% for Ms. Kathy Blankenship, Accountant Administrator 3, effective October 4, 2005. THE COMMISSION GRANTED AN OPTIONAL PAY ADJUSTMENT IN THE AMOUNT OF 7% FOR MS. KATHY BLAKENSHIP, EFFECTIVE OCTOBER 4, 2005.

 

d.         Office of Public Health – for a permanent optional pay adjustment in the amount of 4% for Ms. Doris Brown, Public Health Nurse 9, effective January 5, 2006.  THE COMMISSION GRANTED A TEMPORARY OPTIONAL PAY ADJUSTMENT IN THE AMOUNT OF 4% FOR MS. DORIS BROWN, EFFECTIVE JANUARY 5, 2006 THROUGH JANUARY 5, 2009 OR THE DATE THE DUTIES ARE REMOVED, WHICHEVER IS SOONER.

 

e.         Office of Mental Health – for a permanent optional pay adjustment in the amount of 5% for Mr. Jim Smith, Mental Health Center Manager A, effective November 10, 2005. THE COMMISSION GRANTED AN OPTIONAL PAY ADJUSTMENT IN THE AMOUNT OF 2% FOR MR. JIM SMITH, EFFECTIVE NOVEMBER 10, 2005.

 

f.          Office of Mental Health – for a temporary optional pay adjustment in the amount of 10% for Mr. William Payne, Deputy Assistant Secretary, effective January 30, 2006 through January 29, 2007.  THE REQUEST WAS GRANTED BY THE COMMISSION.

 

g.         Office of Mental Health – to extend a previously approved temporary 5% optional pay adjustment for Mr. Michael Teague, Deputy Assistant Secretary 3, from January 1, 2006 through February 17, 2006.  THE REQUEST WAS GRANTED BY THE COMMISSION.

           

h.                   Department of Health and Hospitals – for a temporary optional pay adjustment in the amount of 5% for Mr. Howard Polk, IT Deputy Director, effective February 2, 2006 through December 31, 2006.  THE REQUEST WAS GRANTED BY THE COMMISSION.
