7)         Request of the Housing Authority of New Orleans to ratify the interim approval given by the Director of Civil Service to extend the furlough of employees for whom there are no job assignments from January 22, 2006 to February 8, 2006 and to extend that furlough from February 8, 2006 to April 17, 2006.  (Appearance by a representative of the Housing Authority of New Orleans.)  THE REQUEST WAS GRANTED BY THE COMMISSION IN ACCORDANCE WITH CIVIL SERVICE RULE 17.8(d).

 

8)         Request of the Delgado Community College to ratify the interim approval given by the Director of Civil Service to extend the furlough of employees for whom there are no job assignments from January 22, 2006 to February 8, 2006 and to extend that furlough from February 8, 2006 to April 22, 2006.  (Appearance by a representative of the Delgado Community College.)  THE REQUEST WAS GRANTED BY THE COMMISSION.

10)       Request of the Bossier Parish Community College to amend its Optional Pay policy under the provisions of Civil Service Rule 6.16.2, effective February 8, 2006.  (Appearance by a representative of the Bossier Parish Community College.)  THE REQUEST WAS GRANTED BY THE COMMISSION.

12)            Consideration of the request to establish or amend a Crisis Leave Pool policy under the provisions of Civil Service Rule 11.34 as follows: 

           

a.   Department Health and Hospitals, Office of Management and Finance, to establish a Crisis Leave Pool policy, effective February 8, 2006.

 

b.   LSU Health Sciences Center-Shreveport, E. A. Conway Medical Center, to establish a Crisis Leave Pool policy, effective February 8, 2006.

1)         Request of the Southern University at New Orleans to extend the furlough of employees for whom there are no job assignments under the provisions of Rule 17.8(d) from February 8, 2006 to March 31, 2006.  (Appearance by a representative of the Southern University at New Orleans.)  THE REQUEST WAS GRANTED BY THE COMMISSION.

 

2)            Consideration of the request of the Southern University at New Orleans under the provisions of Civil Service Rule 17.5, as follows: 

 

a.         to extend the furlough for employees for whom there are no job assignments from March 4, 2006 through close of business March 31, 2006.

 

b. to ratify the interim approval given by the Acting Director of Civil Service for exceptions to the furlough.

3)         Request of the LSU Health Sciences Center—New Orleans under the provisions of Rule 17.8(d) to extend the furlough of employees for whom there are no job assignments from February 8, 2006 to close of business June 30, 2006.  (Appearance by a representative of the LSU Health Sciences Center—New Orleans.)  THE REQUEST WAS GRANTED BY THE COMMISSION.

 

4)            Request of the Sabine River Authority under the provisions of Civil Service Rule 17.5 to ratify the interim approval given by the Acting Director of Civil Service for exceptions pertaining to the regular layoff avoidance measures as follows, effective January 30, 2006:

 

·        Remove the Sabine River Diversion Canal from reduction in work hours;

·        Return Dan Holder, Sabine River Diversion Canal employee to his regular work schedule;

·        Return Arlin Levy, Toledo Bend Reservoir employee to his regular work schedule.

 

And, to restore the merit increase eligibility of the Sabine River Diversion Canal employees and Mr. Dan Holder.  (Appearance by a representative of the Sabine River Authority.)  THE REQUEST FOR EXCEPTIONS PERTAINING TO THE REGULAR LAYOFF AVOIDANCE MEASURES WERE GRANTED BY THE COMMISSION, EFFECTIVE JANUARY 30, 2006.  THE REQUEST TO RESTORE THE MERIT INCREASES OF THE SABINE RIVER DIVERSION CANAL EMPLOYEES AND MR. DAN HOLDER WAS DENIED. 

 

5)         Request of the Department of Social Services to extend the furlough under the provisions of Civil Service Rule 17.8(d) of the Office of Community Services employees previously furloughed from February 10, 2006 through June 30, 2006.  (Appearance by a representative of the Department of Social Services.)  THE REQUEST WAS GRANTED BY THE COMMISSION.

 

6)         Request of the Housing Authority of Lafourche Parish for authority under the provisions of Civil Service Rule 6.16(c) for an individual pay adjustment in the amount of $0.11 per hour for Ruby Plaisance, Housing Assistance Technician Supervisor 1.  (Appearance by a representative of the Housing Authority of Lafourche Parish.)  THE REQUEST WAS GRANTED BY THE COMMISSION, EFFECTIVE FEBRUARY 8, 2006.

 

7)            Consideration of the following requests for optional pay adjustments for additional duties under the provisions of Civil Service Rule 6.16.2:

 

a. Department of Natural Resources - for a temporary optional pay adjustment in the amount of 5% for Gregory Grandy, Coastal Resources Scientist – DCLB, and Charles Norman, Coastal Resources Scientist 3, in the Office of Coastal Restoration and Management, effective February 8, 2006 through February 8, 2010. THE REQUEST WAS GRANTED BY THE COMMISSION.

 

b. University of Louisiana at Monroe -for a temporary optional pay adjustment in the amount of 5% for Ms. Lisa Lynch, Accountant 2, effective January 2, 2006.  THE COMMISSION GRANTED AUTHORITY FOR A 2% TEMPORARY OPTIONAL PAY ADJUSTMENT FOR MS. LISA LYNCH, EFFECTIVE JANUARY 2, 2006.

 

8)         Request of the Division of Administration for authority under the provisions of Civil Service Rule 4.1(d)2 for twenty-seven (27) unclassified positions for the new Disaster Recovery Unit within the existing Office of Community Development, effective February 8, 2006 through February 7, 2011. (Appearance by a representative of the Division of Administration.)  THE REQUEST WAS GRANTED BY THE COMMISSION.

9)         Request of the Port of New Orleans for authority under the provisions of Civil Service Rule 4.1(d)2 for an extension of fifteen (15) unclassified positions, effective February 2, 2006 for a period of two years.  (Appearance by a representative of the Port of New Orleans.)  THE REQUEST WAS GRANTED BY THE COMMISSION.
