THE COMMISSION RECEIVED A REPORT BY THE DEPARTMENT OF ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AND THE SOUTHERN UNIVERSITY SYSTEM. THE UNIVERSITY OF LOUISIANA SYSTEM COULD NOT ATTEND THE MEETING AND HAS BEEN RESCHEDULED FOR ITS REPORT AT THE FEBRUARY MEETING OF THE COMMISSION.
5) Report by the Department of Economic Development relative to its progress on the hiring of 15 unclassified positions approved by the Civil Service Commission at its March 7, 2001 meeting. (Appearance by a Representative of the Department of Economic Development.) THE COMMISSION RECEIVED A REPORT FROM MR. DON HUTCHINSON, SECRETARY, DEPARTMENT OF ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT.
6) Public hearing to consider proposed changes to the Classification and Pay Plan. THE COMMISSION APPROVED EXHIBIT A WHICH WAS INTERIMLY APPROVED BY THE DIRECTOR AND ALREADY IN EFFECT. THE COMMISSION APPROVED EXHIBITS B AND D AND THEIR SUPPLEMENTS, SUBJECT TO THE APPROVAL OF THE GOVERNOR AND THE GOVERNOR SETTING THE EFFECTIVE DATE. EXHIBIT C AND ITS SUPPLEMENTS WERE APPROVED BY THE COMMISSION SETTING THE EFFECTIVE DATE TO BE THE SAME AS THE DATE SET BY THE GOVERNOR FOR EXHIBITS B AND D. 7) Request of the Department of Health and Hospitals, Office of Addictive Disorders under the provisions of Civil Service Rule 4.1(d)2, for one (1) unclassified position of Associate Director for the State Incentive Grant Program for a period of three years effective February 1, 2003 through January 31, 2006. (Appearance by a Representative of the Department of Health and Hospitals.) THE REQUEST WAS GRANTED BY THE COMMISSION.
8) Request of the Department of Health and Hospitals, Office of Public Health to establish an Unscheduled Absenteeism Policy effective February 1, 2003. (Appearance by a Representative of the Department of Health and Hospitals.) THE REQUEST WAS GRANTED BY THE COMMISSION.
9) Request of the Department of Social Services, under the provisions of Civil Service Rule 11.34 to amend its Crisis Leave Pool Policy as follows: THE REQUEST WAS GRANTED BY THE COMMISSION.
(a) The minimum leave donation amount is decreased from 8 hours to 4 hours.
(b) The donor’s leave balance is reduced from 160 hours to 140 hours.
(c) Other minor items have been modified for clarity.(Appearance by a Representative of the Department of Social Services.)
10) Request of the Jennings Housing Authority, under the provisions of Civil Service Rule 6.16.1, to establish a policy for a Rewards and Recognition Program effective November 27, 2002. The agency has chosen to reward those employees in the following area: THE REQUEST WAS GRANTED BY THE COMMISSION.
Those employees in the Public Housing division who are responsible, as a team, for their division achieving a rating of a High Performer designation as defined by the Department of Housing and Urban Development – up to 4% of annual salary.(Appearance by a Representative of the Jennings Housing Authority.)
11) Request of the Department of Health and Hospitals, under the provisions of Civil Service Rule 6.16(c), for an individual pay adjustment in the amount of $168.80 bi-weekly for Ms. Darla Landry, RN Manager (MS-69), effective October 21, 2002. (Appearance by a Representative of the Department of Health and Hospitals.) THE REQUEST WAS GRANTED BY THE COMMISSION EFFECTIVE JANUARY 8, 2003.
