THE COMMISSION RECEIVED A REPORT BY DR. WILLIAM L. JENKINS, PRESIDENT OF THE LOUISIANA STATE UNIVERSITY SYSTEM. CHANCELLORS RICHARDSON, CAVANAUGH, MARSALA AND O’BRIEN BRIEFED THE COMMISSION ON THEIR PERFORMANCE PLANNING AND REVIEW PROGRAMS. THE UNIVERSITY OF LOUISIANA SYSTEM COULD NOT ATTEND THE MEETING, THEREFORE THEY WILL BE RESCHEDULED FOR THEIR REPORT AT THE MAY COMMISSION MEETING. SOUTHERN UNIVERSITY COULD NOT ATTEND THE MEETING AND HAVE BEEN RESCHEDULED FOR THE JUNE MEETING.

9) Request of the Department of Health and Hospitals, Office for Citizens with Developmental Disabilities, Southwest Louisiana Developmental Center, for ongoing unclassified authority under the provisions of Civil Service Rule 4.1(d)2, for four (4) additional positions to serve as companions to clients of Southwest Louisiana Developmental Center in the Supported Independent Living Program. (Appearance by a Representative of Southwest Louisiana Developmental Center.) THE REQUEST WAS GRANTED BY THE COMMISSION.

10) Request of Bossier Parish Community College, under the provisions of Civil Service Rule 4.1(d)2, ongoing unclassified authority for four (4) full-time positions of Van Driver. (Appearance by a Representative of Bossier Parish Community College.) THE REQUEST WAS GRANTED BY THE COMMISSION.

11) Consideration of the request from LSU Health Sciences Center under the provisions of Civil Service Rule 6.16.2, to amend its Optional Pay Adjustment Policy to include all permanent employees, not just those with over 2 years of service. The agency has requested that this amendment be made effective March 1, 2001. (Appearance by a Representative of LSU Health Sciences Center.) THE REQUEST WAS GRANTED BY THE COMMISSION.

12) Consideration of the request from East Jefferson Levee District for authority under the provisions of Civil Service Rule 6.16.2, to establish a policy for an Optional Pay Adjustment Program to reward employees in various areas, with an effective date of March 1, 2001. (Appearance by a Representative of East Jefferson Levee District.) THE REQUEST WAS GRANTED BY THE COMMISSION.

13) Request of the Department of Public Safety and Corrections, C. Paul Phelps Correctional Center, for authority under the provisions of Civil Service Rule 12.5, to suspend without pay, Mr. James Flemones, pending criminal proceedings. (Appearance by a Representative of the Department of Public Safety and Corrections.) THE REQUEST WAS GRANTED BY THE COMMISSION.

14) Consideration of Requests for Special Entrance Rates. THE COMMISSION GRANTED THE REQUESTS AS RECOMMENDED BY THE DEPARTMENT.

15) Consideration of Requests for Special Pay Rates. THE COMMISSION GRANTED THE REQUESTS AS RECOMMENDED BY THE DEPARTMENT.

16) Consideration of the Minutes of the Commission Meeting held on March 6-7, 2001. THE COMMISSION APPROVED THE MINUTES, AS WRITTEN.
